XS Plan Viewer is designed to support topographic data processing integrating survey data with other available topographic and morphological information in a CAD or GIS environment (both proprietary and open source). It is suggested to make use of it during the actions needed to pre-process the survey data to superimpose topographic and cartographic layers, in a geo-referenced system. In fact, the main output of the software is a set of polylines (XS profiles) identifying cross sections on a planar view, linked through segments to the georeferenced surveyed points along the cross section cut line. The polylines are of significant help while trying to better understand or check the shape of the river bed, of the overbank, the position of the river banks, levees, islands, etc.
